I like Me some ME
I have found that apparently there are a few "other" things maybe more important in this world than sports... like Rock of Love 2, Flavor Flav, Butters on South Park, and Peter Griffin.
I love my wife Sarah with all my heart.  She has helped me enjoy life to its fullest.  I am the proud parent of Will Plank (referred to on the air as Willie C) who is going to be the starting fullback at OU in the year 2022.  Emma will enter this earth in September and will obviously force me to become a fan of womens sports!

Quick Media Day Thoughts
Thursday 07-24-2008 8:03am CT

Boy can we dwell on a story in the media.  Some highlights from Big 12 Media Day included the following:

  • Questions on the internet hoax and how it affected OU players
  • Mike Gundys Rant
  • OU going to the no huddle offense
  • Texas not having high expectations

Yup… there you go.  That was Big 12 Media Days in a box for you.  I want to go ahead and say that I love the idea of Media Days.  Get all the coaches and media together for a three day football fest that covers just about EVERYTHING imaginable.  But it gets very frustrating if you consistently follow a team and all you hear is the same questions over and over and over again.  I get it that those who cover Iowa State and Baylor are probably tired of hearing the same thing over and over again, but this was borderline insane.  Especially in reference to OSU and the Mike Gundy rant.  I don’t know how to say this… but it is TIME.  Move on… Move on.

The Sports DeadZone

So in the midst of waiting for football and trying to get excited for the Olympics, I'm really getting in to baseball.... or at least trying to.
So with that said, here are a few storylines to follow for those of you who have decided to wait until NOW or maybe those of you who are waiting to dive in until after the All Star Break:
The Cubs are awesome.  This is NOT intended to be a kiss of death, the Cubs are really good.  I mean they are stacked and loaded.  Fukudome is consistent, Ramirez is a stud, and Jim Edmonds looks like he did with the Cards and Angels back in the day.
The Rays are pretty good... BUT, they might be in a division that is too stacked for them to potentially make the playoffs.  Right now though it’s a fun young team to watch.
The NL West is horrendous but the Dodgers could make a HUGE move by trading for CC Sabathia.  The Indians have accepted that they can NOT re-sign the big lefty and Sabathia wants to play in the NL so he can actually step up to the plate... and NO I don't mean the buffet.
Tony LaRussa is doing his BEST managing job ever.  The Cards have been a virtual disaster all season long thanks to injuries... but LaRussa has kept the ship in order and the Cards are definitely within striking distance of the Cubs in the Central.
The Yankees are coming... and you better believe of all the teams in baseball right now the Yanks are the ONE team who will NOT be afraid to make a big move to try and improve its roster.
